Workwear for Joiners & Carpenters

Joinery is physical work. You're kneeling to fit skirting, reaching up to hang doors and carrying sheets of timber all day, often in a mix of workshops, building sites and finished customer homes. That means workwear with plenty of freedom of movement that can shrug off sawdust and still look tidy on a kitchen or staircase fit.

At Not Just T-Shirts we embroider and print joiners' and carpenters' workwear in-house at our Chesterfield shop, supplying joiners across Derbyshire and delivering anywhere in the UK.

What joiners and carpenters usually need

  • Hoodies: Warm, comfortable and easy to move in. A heavyweight option like the Heavyweight Hooded Sweatshirt stands up to workshop life.
  • Gilets and bodywarmers: Probably the most practical layer for joiners: warmth without sleeves catching on tools or timber. The Super Pro Body Warmer is a hard-wearing choice.
  • T-shirts: A cool base layer for warm workshops and summer fitting jobs.
  • Sweatshirts: A smarter, hood-free option for second-fix work in finished homes where you want to look the part.
  • Softshell jackets: For first-fix work on cold sites and travelling between jobs.

Embroidery or print?

Embroidery is the favourite with joiners. It's durable, doesn't crack and looks great on hoodies, gilets, sweatshirts and softshells. Sawdust brushes off easily. Print is a good option on t-shirts or for a big back logo on hoodies. Bring your logo in and we'll talk you through both options. You can read more on our embroidery page.

How ordering works

  1. Choose your garments: Browse the categories above, call us, or pop into our Chesterfield shop to see and try on samples.
  2. Send your logo: A vector file such as an EPS or PDF is ideal. We can work from other files, though some may need redrawing for a small charge.
  3. Approve your quote: We email a full quotation for your approval. Payment is taken upfront for personalised orders.
  4. We embroider or print in-house: Your order is usually ready in 7 to 10 working days from approval and payment, then delivered anywhere in the UK.

There's no minimum order on the majority of our garments, with discounts for quantity. Logo set-up is a one-off charge, so reorders are simple and set-up-free.

Frequently asked questions: workwear for joiners and carpenters

What's the most practical workwear for a joiner?

Many joiners wear a t-shirt or hoodie with a gilet or bodywarmer on top, which keeps you warm while leaving your arms completely free for sawing, fitting and lifting.

Should I choose embroidery or print for joinery workwear?

Embroidery is the most popular choice because it's durable and looks smart on hoodies, gilets and sweatshirts. Print suits t-shirts and larger back designs. We do both in-house and can advise.

Can I buy branded workwear for just one apprentice?

Yes. There's no minimum order on the majority of our garments, so you can add a single apprentice to your team kit whenever you need to.

Do I have to pay for my logo again when I reorder?

No. Logo set-up is a one-off charge, so repeat orders don't include it again and reordering is simple.

Can I see the garments before I order?

Yes. Pop into our shop at 354 Derby Road, Chesterfield, where we have hundreds of garments on display to look at and try on. We're open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
